Launching Grant Award Procedure

Steering committee of the Foundation launches the procedure for awarding grants “Professor Borislav Lorenc” (the “Grants”) by February 15th every year.

Launching of the grant award procedure must be previously announced on the notice-board and the website of the Faculty of philosophy in Belgrade, on the website of the Foundation, in respectable daily newspapers issued for the whole territory of Republic of Serbia, the circulation of which cannot be less than 100.000 copies per day, as well as in the bulletin of Association of Psychologists – “Psychology newspapers”.

Subject announcement on grant award procedure launching must include information on the Grant itself, as well as the terms and criteria required for obtaining it. Furthermore, the announcement must state the list of documentation and proofs which must accompany the application form.

Deadline for submitting applications cannot be shorter than 30 days as of the day of publishing announcement on grant competition launching.

Exceptionally, in order to protect the viability of the Foundation, the Steering committee can decide not to launch competition for a particular year i.e. not to award the Grants for the year at hand if required by financial or some other circumstances.

Selection Criteria

Criteria based on which the Steering committee will be making selection of applicants to be awarded with the grant “Professor Borislav Lorenc” (the “Grant”) shall be the following:

  • Applicant`s proved potential (average grade, published work, etc);
  • Prestige of the suggested faculty/educational center;
  • Clarity and usefulness of goals that will be pursued at the suggested foreign faculty/educational center;
  • Duration of studies at the suggested foreign faculty/educational center;
  • Potential  of long-term cooperation between our(s) faculty(ies) and the foreign faculty/ educational center at hand;
  • Applicant`s financial status;

Selection Decision

Steering committee shall appraise the documentation submitted with the application and decide and make selection of the best candidate in its own discretion, guided by criteria provided under the Foundation’s Statutes.

Decision on selection of grant awarded applicants must be announced on the notice-board and the website of the Faculty of philosophy in Belgrade and on the website of the Foundation.

In case that the Steering committee, after reviewing the applications, concludes that there is not enough high-quality candidates or constructive project suggestions, the Steering committee can decide not to distribute a part of or the total amount of money destined to be awarded in form of Grants for that year.

Number of Grants to be awarded shall vary in function of financial capacities of the Foundation and other circumstances present at a given moment.
